We have all seen the TV commercials over and over again about some dangerous looking thug breaking into someone home. If you would agree with these commercials, the only way to protect your home is to have one of their systems installed, hopefully the most expensive, and then pay a monthly fee to have your home monitored twenty four seven. This is of course is utter nonsense. However, it seems to work very well. I recall a time when most people who had burglar alarms, simple had them installed and if someone burglarized their homes, the alarm would go off and neighbors would call the police. The only problem was that often the wind would set off the alarms. However, today, the sophisticated alarms do not have that problem and thus there is no need of a monitoring service for home protection.
